Design, Jewelry, Illustration, Visual Art.
Born in Mexico City, Axel Bernal Bladh is a designer and artist working in Jewelry, Glass, Sculpture and Illustration among other media.

An earthquake forced his family to relocate to Taxco, a small town famous for its silversmithing production, where he learned traditional Mexican jewelry techniques.
It was through Jewelry that he learned the role of design as a vital added value, starting a passion and a learning  journey  that continues
to this day.

His mixed cultural background exposed him to a series of almost surreal experiences  that continue to fuel his imagination and permeate his works (for example, his first art school had an alligator pit).
His B.A. In Industrial Design was received from UNAM, Mexico's
national university, where he graduated with honours.

He has worked as a set designer for movies, as a jewelry and
sculpture teacher and as a designer of giant sculptures for
museums and amusement parks.

in 2018 he obtained a MFA degree in Craft Media from the
Alberta College of Art + Design, with the thesis and exhibit
"Mirrors of Wonder". You can learn more about the show at:

His work has been seen in exhibitions in Mexico, Canada,
Spain, Colombia and the Netherlands, and published
in Mexico and the United Kingdom.

He lives in Calgary, Canada.
